Britta is originally from Woodstock, Georgia and grew up dancing at The Georgia Ballet. By the age of 13, she started in their mentor program and began assisting in young children’s ballet classes ages 2-6.
By age 15, she began teaching her own classes. She then moved to Salt Lake City Utah to train with Ballet West. During her years dancing there, she was also a rehearsal and teaching assistant to the lower school division director, Heather Thackeray. She worked alongside her with kids ages 6 – 16 in Ballet West’s professional company productions of The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Nutcracker. She was also a part of their movement mentor program, where twice a week she would help teach a ballet class to kids with both physical or mental disabilities.
In 2018, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she was a dancer with Ballet Arizona and taught contemporary and modern classes for kids in their upper school division. Now, she lives here in Dallas and spent last season as a dancer with Avant Chamber Ballet Company. She has always loved teaching and working with kids and is so excited to continue that with you all!
